The Daphne Guinness Exhibition in New York

Yesterday I finally got the chance to visit the Museum at FIT (my university! heey) for their exhibition on the private collection of Daphne Guinness.  Phenomenal! There are so many gorgeous, glittery, sculptural pieces – many by Alexander McQueen who she was very close with, Azzedine Alaia, Lagerfeld, and some of her own creations. Guinness' style and expression go far beyond fashion and lean more toward the realm of art when seen up close. Definitely check it out if you're anywhere near NYC, you have until Jan. 7th!

WOW, these are amazing and incredible. I wanted to go to FIT to check out the Alexander McQueen exhibition, but now I have The Daphne Guinness to add to my list. That's pretty cool that you study fashion design at FIT. I have a new fashion post, I would love it if you checked it out.

@ J. Choudhury - I actually studied Graphic Design at FIT, no fashion design for me! And the Alexander McQ was at The Met but this is a good one to check out if you missed it :-)

@ Villa - Uhh, let me know about those Barney sales!!

I went to F.I.T. and majored in Marketing Communications. Fantastic museum. Makes me miss home. But the museum at FIDM has some pretty amazing exhibitions so I can't complain :)
