This lone dress in the middle of a silent, white room was strangely haunting but at the same time so captivating. Iceland's Reykjavik Art Museum has room after room filled with art but only this one had 1 single piece. There was not another soul on the whole floor and seemed like no one in the entire building. From afar it looked like a regular dress but as I got closer I realized that it was all constructed of paper and the print was drawn entirely by hand.. in pencil! Wow..
What do you think of this paper dress?

It really reminds me of the work done by Yinka Shonibare. His work is created with textiles that appear African but were created in the Neatherlands for consumption by Africans. His work is often much deeper than what is simply in the gallery and often requires a bit of research about his background and his work. I encourage you to look him up. It is great stuff!
Very lovely though!

For being made out of paper its pretty fantastic but it cant compete with the haute-couture dresses that struts down the runway in paris or such places. Its amazing because of its material but its not.. agh you get what i mean? hard to explain..
S, I understand what you mean, lol... But the part that was most amazing to me was the handwork details that unfortunately I didn't get much of..
Thanks for your coments everybody!
