The Dead Sea got its name not because you can float like a dead person, but because the salinity is so high that no form of life exists in the water. And when you look out to the other side where Israel is, you can really see the 'dead calm'. So 10-15 minutes in the water was good enough for me!.. The salt causes a really weird "under your skin" feeling but I must say, that whatever other minerals are in the sea, they worked wonders in keeping my hair from curling.. Lol.

Cold at first... But then all good!

Wow that looks like an amazing time in the sun.
Lovely photos - I love the shot with you in the water and you can see the red rocks! I always wondered if the water was drying to skin. I have a salt water pool and it can be very drying.
Thanks for sharing!

@ Murissa - I'm not sure it's drying because it has other minerals in the water, there's even a kind of residue that it leaves on your skin.. People spread the mud over their bodies also.
@ Carmar - I think it did make you prune faster, Lol!
@ Jenna and Laura, Thank you!!
@ Andrea - I know, so sad it's slowly disappearing..something needs to be done to keep it safe..
