My apologies for not posting all week! I was waiting on some very important photos that my friend has of mine but to no avail, I have yet to receive them.
So, here are a few bright photos from my first day in St. Petersburg, hangin' around the fresh-colored Winter Palace. It's the old residence of Peter the Great, Catherine the Great, and the likes, and houses The Hermitage Museum, one of the best I've ever seen (and I've seen many!) Beyond this square, the city is filled will pastel buildings, cute little canals and bridges, and art/ history up the wazoo.. lol.. which I'll only give a glimpse of for now since I literally have over a thousand pics.
So I hope you enjoy this slice of sunshine!.. I'm off to bask in NYC's 80 degree sunny weather :-)

Piter - really, really great city :)
Stunning photos! I have heard the Hermitage is the best museum in the world-hope I can make it there someday soon! I have a friend who was thinking of booking a last minute trip to Russia at the same time as you but was turned off, because she thought it would be too cold-it doesn't look too bad to me :)
What a beautiful place. You look fabulous.
That palace is the most amazing color...and you are right, history out the wazoo! I don't think I have ever seen that word actually spelled out before...but amazing pictures, can't wait to see the rest! And yes, I would probably look at all 1000 of them...(c:
I can't say I have ever seen a mint green palace?? What was the weather like?
Meghan, the weather in St. Pete was great, at times a bit chilly, but mostly warm, clear and sunny luckily... a scarf and light coat temperatures...Moscow on the other hand was absolutely awful- snow, sleet, rain..yuck!

Lovely pastel palette! So soft but glorious.
I have always wanted to visit this place, but I think it needs so much time.
